Phases & Activities
TIMELAPSE will take its ground-breaking idea to proof of concept through five subsequent phases within 18 months (June 2024 – November 2025).
PHASE 1
THEORETICAL ELABORATION
Aim
Shaping a strong theoretical hypothesis concerning what types of VR content can be suitable for accelerating subjective time passage during chemotherapy.
Methodology
Bibliographic research, and previous research conducted by members of the AN-ICON group; in addition, integration of the concrete and practice-based directions emerging from the partially overlapping phase 2.
Team
AN-ICON
PHASE 2
PARTICIPATORY DESIGN
Aim
Refining the hypothesized VR content by incorporating the users’ perspective.
Methodology
A combination of experiential didactics and focus groups; in addition, integration of the theoretical directions from phase 1.
Team
AN-ICON and Khora; moreover, the oncologic patients recruited by the FSGT clinical staff.
PHASE 3
PRODUCTION
Aim
Concretely developing the content for the planned VR application, thus obtaining a prototype ready to be tested.
Methodology
Product development informed by the principle of a “golden compromise” between complexity and affordability.
Team
AN-ICON and Khora
PHASE 4
ASSESSMENT
Aim
Testing and demonstrating the tolerability and effectiveness of the VR application.
Methodology
Validated methods for clinical
research, especially Phase 1 study design with the primary aim being safety and tolerance.
Team
FSGT and AN-ICON
PHASE 5
PRE-COMMERCIALIZATION
Aim
Launching the VR application on the market
Methodology
Organization of presentation and dissemination events, including hands-on and testing, destined to potential stakeholders.
Team
