Federica Cavaletti

Head of Research Unit

Federica Cavaletti (Ph.D.) is a Post-Doc researcher at the Department of Philosophy “Piero Martinetti” of the University of Milan, where she is also Adjunct Professor in Media for Social Inclusion. She obtained her Ph.D. degree at the Catholic University of Milan, with a dissertation on time perception in audiovisual media, which she explored both theoretically and utilizing both methods from cognitive psychology and micro-phenomenological interviews. She has been a visiting Ph.D. student at the Interacting Minds Center at Aarhus University (2018-19) and a visiting scholar at the Italian Academy for Advanced Studies in America at Columbia University, New York (2021-22). Her current research interests concern how VR experiences can be deployed in professional domains such as medicine and mental health.
Within TIMELAPSE, she is in charge of coordinating the theoretical research grounding the development of the project (Phase 1) and the participatory design activities (Phase 2). She is also providing support in the assessment process (Phase 3) and in the pre-commercialization (Phase 5) of the VR application which will constitute the project’s final outcome. Lastly, she is responsible for information exchange between Partners, and between Partners and Principal Investigator.
